Ordering a new 2014 SS Convertible...
(Reposting in this forum).
After owning Mustangs ('67 Shelby GT500, '70 Notchback), a Pontiac (Trans Am) now it appears I'm on the verge of ordering a Camaro (my 15 year old self would kick my behind....). A few questions for you guys: - I have gone to the Chevy site and there seems to be no way to see what these other rim offerings are, would love to see what they are before I throw this order in. - Any word of caution? Any suggestions on what is a must have option? - Color wise I want the BRM with the full length silver stripes and the blue accent for the interior. Again any suggestions would be appreciated. Additional questions, any advice or warnings regarding getting a convertible ss? |

Took delivery in Jan on BRM 2SS. To me, the color HUD on the 2SS is a must. I got the blue accent interior also. It's not as blue as the Chev web site pics show, but still nice. I had to have the six speed, among other reasons, I always like something to do while driving. You won't regret the convertible, I can't imagine not having one.

Get a fully loaded 2SS and have them throw in the wind screen, cargo mat, and cargo net. NPP exhaust if you are getting a manual trans. Polished wheels if you don't plan on getting aftermarket wheels. It will set off the BRM.

Must haves: 2SS/RS; NPP 6M w/short shift kit (or good aftermarket like TMW), GM Windscreen. I love my Full length Indy Stripes. This elevated shot shows their continuity from front bumper to windshield surround to spoiler. This is DTA-gray. Obviously a very dark gray but gray it is, note how it lightens with the sun on the front bumper. Camaros need stripes!

I really like how it ties together all the front bumper elements.

If you order the RS package for the lighting (and you really should), a specific wheel will be included. On the '14s, that is the "midnight" silver 20" five spoke. They are darkened more than I anticipated. I wanted something brighter for my alternate set. Supposedly, the 2015 RS wheel is going back to a bright silver. The place to go to see all the options is the brochure which you can download from the website.

Go to the GM Accessories Zone: http://www.chevyaccessories.com/,
Under the heading "Cars" select "Camaro", then, on the right lower side of the page, you'll see the heading "Wheels". Each of the descriptions is a link to a pic of each of the wheels. I uploaded all of the pics and descriptions below.

A few last questions:
- Polished wheels. Are you talking about these "20" x 8" front and 20" x 9" rear polished aluminum wheels" ? - Planning on the Navi system, does that have the Bose speakers (it does not say on the build yours on chevy)? - Chrome gas cap, thoughts on that? |
