Ahh Great News! Good to read of some recent progress.
Haven't been here in a long while and thought these were givin' up on. Almost made a mistake of buying some other's LED styles that I noticed people were having trouble with. Glad I didn't go that route! I'll keep waiting till these are actually available! Thanks for the updates!

Yay! I can post again...
Glad we followed up on the dark material! We discovered a bad shadow line that was created by an adjustment to the location of the outer LED's meant to minimize their visibility. Here are some phone pics of the light (left side of each pic) and dark material, side by side. The difference when the lights are on is not as big as it looks here, so, I'll get pictures with the real camera later this afternoon.

I like the dark much better when the lights are off.

The tail light lit on the dark lens looks MEAN! I like the effect it has to it. Either way honestly, I'll be buying a set of these.

These look slick as hell. If your price point is right, I'll be getting rid of my Technostalgia ones for these, as I said a long time ago. I just need to make sure whatever version is released isn't dark enough for me to get pulled over. I prefer the light ones in the day, but favor the way the dark color looks at night when illuminated. Great job guys.
