So what issues are you referring to?
You ever have to replace a power window regulator on that fiberglass door? How about find and fix a convertible roof leak from poor seals? Rear hatch rattle? Door rattles from window tracks? For warranty flag times?
That's just the body. Ever diagnose and work on LT1 problems? Like an OptiSpark that gets filled with oil, or have to replace spark plug wires that are bolt-bracketed to the head?

Don't mind me, I'm just an old tech, venting.

Ah opitsuck, forgot that one since I had an LS1. I did replace the drivers window motor on mine and remember the t-top and hatch squeak. But apart from optispark, I've seen issues like that on the vast majority of cars made in the 80's and 90's. So I don't blame the GM team especially for those kinds of problems. Par for the course back then. We expect better out of cars now and generally get it.

Don't get me wrong, there are reasons I worked at GM dealerships for so many years. Oddly enough, OptiSpark was one of them. It was the first distributor to give 365° crank angle along with the cylinder info for sequential fuel injection and timing. That was the highest tech back then, just not sure it needed to be on the front of the motor. Then again, that's where we find the cam and crank sensors to this day.

Definitely, I've seen guys who still use optispark on cars running in the 10's. Was not a bad design, just not placed in a good location.

Another point, if he were right, wouldn't the article have been taken down? I'm sure GM execs would not want this info to be online.

⬆️ I have a feeling this statement was "divined" from a Magic Eight Ball.

Nah. There's plenty of rumors out there surrounding future product and at least a few of them are legit.
