How much better is the Bose audio than the BA in the 5th gen?

To those who’ve heard both. I’ve heard really bad things about the Boston acoustics

It is night and day difference. The Bose makes the BA sound cheap IMO. I had a 2010 with the BA and now my '17 with the Bose

Not so bad really. The BA sounds good, but the Bose is a little better.

BUT, you can easily upgrade the amp in about an hour and then the BA is at least equal to the Bose and maybe better. Also very easy to add a sub.

The Bose (of course) can't be upgraded. If you want really good tunes with the gen 6 you need a base CA6 Camaro and some time on your hands.

I think the bose doesn’t sound good at all, compared to my 2006 Chrysler Boston acoustics, I’d order the base version and upgrade

All the systems in the Gen6 can be upgraded. There are many threads in the Audio/Electronics sub-forum. Depending on what you want, it gets kinda pricey, particularly with the Bose system, as there are no analog line-level signals to be found.

Bose and non-Bose with amp are easy to upgrade. Just get the harness from subthum p. If you want everything to work like factory with regular volume blinkers and chimes you need the M-650GM from navtv.

Is that in reference to a gen 6?

Yes. The 5th gen didn't have Bose.

LOL. The Bose in my 2016 Trax (yes you heard right, the little Korean made Trax) sounds better than the BA in my 2010 Camaro.

the boston in my 12 was the worce sound system I ever had. Iv had over 20 vehicles made from the 70s to 2017. the Boston system is the worst iv ever had. The Bose is the 2nd worse. that with the engine off parked. road noise makes it even worse. Everyone calls it Boston Acoustics. Nothing says Acoustics on it only Boston.

I had a 2015 3LT with the Boston system and it was adequate, but just! I have the Bose in my 16 2SS and its better, but still not going to get any audiophiles excited. The Bose in my 17 1LT is of course similar to the 2SS however it had a ridiculous music induced rattle in the drivers door from day one that took several trips to the dealership to rectify. Either system is pretty good, but the factory Alpine system in my 15 Ram 2500 is significantly better than either!

BA is definitely better in the convertible. Not because of brand though, because 5th gen had a subwoofer behind the back seat and 6th gen doesn't. Big difference.
