I want to get a Gen 6 so bad, and I will. But I'm going to have to buy used because I just can't afford the car new. I want to get it new to support Chevy/GM for the amazing work they've done, and customize the car the way I want, but there's just no way I can afford it. We're talking a difference in price of $15k buying new vs used. It's my dream car, and the performance you get for the price really is amazing, but it's still too expensive for most people who buy Mustangs and Challengers. Not to mention, Camaro looks are very controversial whereas the other two are widely acclaimed. Also, Chevy has been doing very, very, very little advertising for the Camaro.

I realize that each new model should be an improvement over the previous version but this slap was from a 700lb Gorilla; heads fell off inadvertently.

But it's only money...so...

Well that's not good for the Camaro. The Challenger on the other hand continues to amaze sales wise. There's a lot of talk here on how profitable the Camaro is, I would imagine the Challenger is probably the most profitable of the 3 pony cars considering how long it's been in production.

Don't fret the small stuff Camaro and GM still rules

About a year and a half back I was going to trade my 2014 v6 Camaro for a used v8 challenger but before i did i went into the challenger forums ask all the basic questions like reliability performance opinions and more than one person told me keep the Camaro better car ..... so i gave up on the lust for a v8....I love my new 2017 v6 6th gen way lighter faster and better ....500 miles on her so far so good

If they want more sales then this I just don't understand why they aren't marketing it at all. I get targeted Chevy ads ALL the time on my phone (I have adblock on my PC) and it's always either for a Cruze or for a Silverado. I get a lot of Cadillac and GMC ads too. Like I've seen hundreds of Chevy ads over the past year. None for the Camaro.

paging MEDISIN

He can normally chime in with those numbers when relates to Ford. I am sure if he creeps through this post he could post up for Chevy as well.

1) The retro styling is a turn off to most 20-30 somethings.
2) The price is a turn off to most 20-30 somethings.
3) The lack of a usable trunk or backseat is a turn off to 20-30 somethings.
4) The crappy gunslit window visibility is a turn off to everyone.
5) The 40+ demographic is not where you want to target your sports cars if you want sales.

The 6th Gen Camaro was developed by people in their 40s and 50s, to appeal to people in their 40s-60s. Once that demographic has their *one* garage queen, they don't need another. Yes, the Challenger targets the exact same demographic, but they are doing it with a larger, more comfortable car that comes in at a lower price point. I am also curious how many Challenger GTs they are selling, since lack of FWD/AWD also hurts Camaro/Mustang in northern states, especially in winter.

Honda sold 27,000 Civics in February. That is the kind of car 20-30 somethings are buying, not the Camaro. When the Civic Hatch, Civic Si, and Civic Type R hit the showrooms, the number of 20-30 somethings who are buying pony cars will get even smaller. Meanwhile VW GTI/Golf R sales are climbing for the same reasons the Civic Type R has a long waiting list even though it is expected to cost nearly $40K.

On the plus side (for me), the V6 1LE may show up at $27K instead of the $29K I was expecting. Or maybe they will just kill it, since they seem to have only produced a handful so far.

not selling camaro

I've mentioned this before in previous submission....No marketing! Can't they make a 30 sec or 1 minute commercial showing the Camaro driving on the beach, up a twisty mountain road, on California highway 101, pay a celebrity money (like rich Rawlins does with dodge) to do a cool commercial..this year in 2017 is the "50th" anniverasary of the Camaro..c'mon GM, wake up! Show a 1967 and a 2017 Camaro driving down the highway side by side going fast, looking cool....do something or there will be no 7th generation Camaro! heck, there won't even be a 2019 Camaro...man, let's go!
