Hm... I'm a little concerned, but compared to way back when, the 4th gen Camaro's are considerably smaller, so it might not be a bad thing in terms of size.
I still want to see a V8 though. There has been no point in the history of a Camaro where there wasn't a V8 offered (from my knowledge), so why start then? You just can't beat a V8.

What about the styling...

Will they stay with a retro theme or head off in some new direction? I personally would love to see something reflecting the 1970-73 style.

I see nothing wrong with using efficiecy and technology. The V6 3.6 is awsome I got 31 MPG hwy last month in it!

Mustang's new 5.0 is a bad ass motor making almost as much HP/L as our V6, i think if Camaro stays V8 they should follow ford... let go of the old pushrod LS series and getting onboard w/ some new technology!

CAFE doesn't mean the end of the pushrod V8. After all, the pushrod V8s in Chevy trucks get better mileage than the OHC V8s in the Dodge, Ford, and Toyota trucks. My money is on the next generation Camaro having a 5.x liter DI V8, with maybe slightly less power, but with a lighter platform, better power:weight.

The Camaro needs to have a V8. There are plently of sports cars that are just as fast, and probably even more fun to drive. The unique rumble of a V8 is what makes the Camaro different. If I just wanted a fast car, and didn't care if it made a buzzy drone, I'd buy a 370Z.

I'd actually rather have the old fashioned LS pushrod engine design than the new 5.0 in the Mustang. The new crop of high tech, high revving DOHC engines make big power numbers, but completely lack low end torque. The 5.0 may make over 400 horses, but its a peaky engine that doesn't come close to the LS3 on the low end.

You can only make torque two ways, displacement (as in the LS3), or forced induction (as in the EcoBoost). And the only way you'd get me to buy the latter type of engine would be if it came with a 200K mile warrantly on the Powertrain and turbo.

I'm sayin, the edmunds has the 2011 5.0 stang GT dyno 395rwhp.

wtf is that all about?

Streetfire.net has a 1/4 2011 5.0 walking away from an SS

I think we are going to see allot of ss folks upset.... Camaro needs to lose some weight

new technology is amazing they'll have V6's out in 2015 that if you hoped in one and wasnt told how many cylinders it had you wouldnt know the difference. bye bye V8 by then it wont be practical people just want the title of owning a "V8" over a "V6."
Past american muscle was V8 new aged is V6 sry. I dont like it either

I don't trust MT...almost up until production started, they were calling the 5th gen a 2009 and saying it had an LS2.

You know what If it gets smaller I might loose its presence. One of the reasons I choose that car is cause it has presence!!! I think lighter is the direction to go, But keep the size overall the same.

whats not to like about the V6? besides not having a V8 rumble? traditionalist wont like it, but guys like me that aren't about a brand are very impressed w/ what these companies are doing w/ newer motors, especially GM and Ford, the new stangs completly blew me away, the 6 and the 8. I was going to wait for the 2011 stang, but stang will never have the looks of the camaro.

2015 is a long way away.

Nothing but pure speculation.
