Whats RPM's you Manual Trans owners shift at???

I own a Brand New 2017 Chevy Camaro Turbo 4 Banger with the 6-speed manual tranny and wanted to get an overall assumption at what rpm's yall shift at under 'Normal Driving Conditions' (I know hard to say)...but.... I feel the car wanting to shift at a good fuel economy around 3,000 rpm's for each gear. However, 6th Gear feels only comfortable in at like 68mph-70mph on the interstate only lol. Boost kicks in really only at around 3,500 rpm's to about 6,500 rpm's then just drags after that throttle til next shift in Gear.

I find 3k with a little clutch play to get off the line well (have recorded a 5.2 0-60MPH bone stock on the 20" wheels);

Typically I shift between 3 and 4k while cruising and 6th like you mentioned is only good on high speed highways and definitely not for passing...even find myself shifting down into 4th to pass at speed.

Boost is actually hitting hard at 2500rpm+ in these cars (while at WOT at least)

At low speeds:
around 5mph 1->2
around 10 mph 2->3
around 15 mph 3-4

and for the rest of the time just listen to the engine and you will know when to shift.

yah i agree with you on everything. 6th gear aint for passing. i noticed i do the drop to 5th then 4th as well whe passing. there no boost whe trying to pass in 6th. u just fly in 4th gear, then pop it in 5th then back into 6th. i must must say boost does kick in low for me as well. this car is crazy torque. esspecially at low rpms. i heard the v6 camaro kicks in more at higher rpm's.

see its different with the turbo compared to your v8, not that anything is wrong with it. engines are tuned differently and engine are completely different.

With more torque off the line on the v8, there's more room to play. I start off in 1st around 800-1100 rpms and usually stay between 2k and maybe 4k around town for normal driving. Being mindful of the skip-shift garbage, I tend to stay in first longer. On the highway, I generally pass in 5th, or sometimes 4th if the situation calls for it.

The skip-shift is an idiotic feature and can be somewhat dangerous when it kicks at the worst possible time.....like when making a quick u-turn. Got to get that eliminator.

I've been wondering the same for the ss? If I shift right before rev limiter it seems to cut power so i try to shift a little before it. Am I crazy or does this happen to you guys as well?
