That sucks. I assume you have an appointment scheduled with a claims adjuster by now to assess the damage, right? Looks like it'll cost at least $10k at minimum — not a write-off, but not great either.

Serious damage to anything other than the rear bumper cover is a real pain in the ass. The body panel that includes the C pillars and sides of the roof is the most expensive and complicated piece of exterior metal to replace. They may even have to cut it off with a blow torch and weld on a replacement. Luckily, nothing too mechanically important is in this spot, but it's definitely going to cause the resale value to tank.

Trust me, they ain't sweating the repair. They're sweating the injury claim. You just got hit by a dump truck. I'm glad you are okay. Now find a great lawyer.

Good luck and luckily nobody was hurt.
This. No way you're getting a new car out of that.

If your state doesn't allow you to claim diminished value against the responsible party's insurance you should add it to your policy. And if you don't have any injuries you'll be hard pressed to even find a lawyer willing to press your case. You are pretty much at their mercy. Be polite, have all your information at hand before speaking with the claims agent. Commercial vehicles may be insured by out of state insurers so it pays to know the laws of your state. Just talking from experience. My car came back better than when the accident happened. That's not to say the whole experience isn't a big pain because it is. Such is life. Sometimes you get the man, sometimes the man gets you. Good luck.
Agree 100%.

Me too.

No damages = No case when it comes to injuries. You have to rack up expenses for (hospital, doctors, therapy, etc.) and then prove the accident caused them all. It's not an easy or short process.

That reminds me when my 335 got totaled. It literally had no front end left yet the adjuster said they would repair it for sure. I few days later after it was sent to the shop I get a call that something had gone through the engine or what not so they would be totaling it. Phew!

But yeah that doesn't look totaled at all to me especially with the value of the car being so high.

Oh sorry. I know here in California you get to choose who is going to fix your car. Years ago I smashed up a new 911 and took it to a Beverly Hills shop. Unfortunately it always crow footed because the straightening was not done correctly. So getting a new car if possible avoids that problem. If you have it fixed make them show you the total frame alignment before you accept it. Yes, it is a unibody, not full frame.

Probably just has a messed up alignment from the hit, or the rear end is out of whack.

Sorry to hear OP, but that looks fixable for sure...
Are you saying that it doesn't have a chassis?

I think these are some Camaro frames/chassis.

Other than the 5th gen unibody that's shown, everything else is from some older cars. Without looking it up, I don't think Camaros have been built body on frame for at least three generations. If not more.

The rear control arm is probably bent that's causing the ride to feel floated...I would fight for a new one if possible.....
