Paddle shifters

Anyone know how to take the paddle shifters off of the steering wheel? I want to paint them and I don't know how to remove them.

The wheel has to come off completely, and then you do it from the back

I am planning to do something similar with mine, so I went searching the internet for a half hour or so...I found this:

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=449245
(turn to 2nd page)

And a myriad of CTS/ATS threads of the same sort of discussion.

It doesn't appear as though the wheel has to come off at all, unless I misread...or something has come up in the meantime?

Looks to be pretty easy and straight-forward. Good luck!

Wheel doesn't have to come off, however you do have to disassemble most of the wheel to get them out. Airbag first, then the trim around the airbag and the wheel switches, and the lower "SS" trim at the bottom, and then the radio and cruise switches. Once you do that, you can get to the screws that hold the paddles in.

No video that I've found, yet....if there isn't one by the time I play with it - I'll post one...but it's going to be at least 10 months.

Just make sure the battery is disconnected. Don't need any surprises from the airbag.

That's the same one I found but it's too expensive for a piece of plastic
