Camaro SS 1LE in seventh place? Yes, but get a load of the iron that came in first through sixth!

Fresh out of my mailbox, Motor Trend magazine has a test between the Nissan GTR Track Pack and the Audi R8 V10 Plus. At the end of the article is a blurb and the following list.

TOP TIMES around Streets of Willow Springs. The 1.55 miles composing the Streets offer a nice arrangement of cracks and bumps--the better for testing suspension tuning--and corners, some requiring second gear and others allowing speeds over 120 mph.

1. Nissan GTR Track Pack 1:19.6
2. Ducati 1198 S 1:19.7
3. Nissan GTR 1:20.3
4. Corvette Z06 1:20.4
5. Audi R8 V10 Plus 1:22.0
6. Ferrari 458 Italia 1:22.3

8. Shelby GT 500 1:23.5

Im blown away the Ferrari 458 itaila is only 4 tenths of a second faster than the 1le!

What does the extra $250,000 get you only 4 tenths. I bet with air intake , long flow headers , highflow cats and a tune it will run the same time as the 458!

The Streets of Willow at 1.55 miles long is a horsepower equalizer so we can better see how the cars stack up handling and grip wise.

On a longer track like Virginia Int'l Raceway, the higher horsepower cars have a bigger advantage.

Considering the power to weight ratio of the 1LE, it's a very impressive performer.

i can only imagine the ford forums... Mustangs arent track cars. the sun was in our eyes when it was driven. my joystick was stuck.. things like that.. lol..

sweet ! dang, mustangs aren't even in the same class as the camaro. mustangs has some catching up to do. no wonder why they think the camaros are ugly, they never get to see it.LOL.. maybe its just me but it's hard to judge something that you can't see. well, maybe they can see the nice taillights on the camaro . The one 1Le is becoming a classic. if not already . now have me thinking about getting that over ths SS without it . The one 1Le will be considered a classic!
