2018 V6 1LE for 35K

Hey Guys,

Would love to get some opinion on my dilemma.

First of all I live in FL and I currently drive a 2009 Honda Accord. Been craving some power for a long time but I was still in school. I just finished school and got a Job where I can afford a new car. I would love to get a 6th gen V8 but cant fit in the budget or tbh I do not want to spend that much money. Been looking for a used or new 2017 V6 for a long time ever since I got the job. Then I stumbled up on a 2018 V6 1LE with an MSRP of 34K (34,138 to be exact). Called the dealer and asked them to give me their best out the door price and told them I don't intend to waste their time or my time. The sales guy asked me what was my desired out the door price and I said 30K. An hour later, they called me and told me 35K out the door. I told them I have found deals for 31K MSRP around my area in truecar.com and stuff . They straight up told me to go with the other deals because they are not gonna give it to me for that price. Obviously I said "thank you for letting me know and have a good day".

35k otd is too much for me. I could go for like 31K or 32K and I can do like 8k down.

So my question is should I just keep looking or should I just go to the dealership which is like 2 hrs away and negotiate to get it around my desired price range?

Is it possible to get a V6 1LE for 31 or 32 k out the door?

Or should I just drop the idea of 1LE and go with a used or new V6 with RS package? (But I fell in love with the 1LE though).

Have you driven the 1LE yet? My suggestion would be to go drive both. You might find that you enjoy the ride better on the 2LT RS. Regardless, once you decide which you like better, don't settle for anything less. Prices will drop some with time but you don't want to make the mistake of buying something just to want to upgrade in a year. And you should be able to find some 1SS's in that price range.

There isn't much profit in these cars, employee pricing on a car like that is ~31,000. It looks like there is a $2000 rebate available right now which would bring it to high 20's but i doubt you could find one for 30k OTD.

I paid $36k for a New 2017 1SS off the lot with sunroof, mat package, cargo net, and some other options. So I think you can do much better.

Negatory on that red rider.... got my 2SS moonroof/navi that stickered for $45k for $38k out the door including taxes/fees/title. So about $35.5k for the car. $9500 off sticker and it had 8 miles when I drove it off the lot.

There's plenty of margin in these cars. Just have to negotiate like a boss, be willing to get up and leave, and don't let the salesman own the discussion.

How much of that discount was Rebates?

There really isn't much profit... relatively speaking. I can show you invoices. Out of that $9500 off you got I bet around half or less was dealer contribution...

Take the 20% off deals for example...I was doing deals for 11-12k off but only 4k of that was dealer discount, rest was rebate.

This was during 20% off...which is no longer available and may never be again...don't mislead people.

I don't know, I negotiated what I was going to cut my bankers check for out the door. Let the dealer move all the numbers around I don't give a crap.

I always negotiate my otd price. Including tax, all Dealer/doc fees, tag, title, anything else.

$37,958 was what I cut the check for. MSRP was $45,550

I just bought a 2017 2 LT RS V6 and paid 34K OTD. It is the most I ever paid for a car in my life. But the car has other options including aftermarket Adventus 20 inch wheels with 35 series Nitto tires. It has a ZL1 look. I think the car was special ordered and prepped and for some reason was not delivered. The car came with a lighted Chevy Emblem on the back, custom trunk mat and a Chevy trickle charger. The color combination along with the wheels and tires gave the car a very unique look. I love the ride, handling and low cost operating and gas mileage of the V6 on regular gas. I bought it as a commuter, not a race car and just love it.

1. You should have posted photos.
2. Hope you & your family are safe with the hurricane heading in to FL. Would love nothing more than seeing that storm take a hard right & head back out into the Atlantic.
