Introductory Pricing (9 UNITS ONLY!) - Kooks New Street "Sleeper" Catback!

This is the introductory sale for Kooks new Street "Sleeper" Catback. Kooks has authorized us to run a sale for the first 10 units of this exhaust to "seed" the market.

Regular price on this exhaust is $1149.95. For the first 9 units, we will reduce the price to $1019.95!

To get the special pricing, click the link below, then click "Add to Cart". Once the first 9 go, the "Add to Cart" price will go away and the price will be $1149.95. Exhausts ordered will ship in 3-4 business days from being ordered!

Here are the details on the exhaust I posted in the tech sections-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have had some request for a quieter system than the current Kooks 3" system. In working with Kooks, we found the 3" system is loud, and on occasion can drone because the large 3" pipes create a low pressure area in the center of the exhausts. In simple terms, this allows the sound waves more room to bouce around and vibrate in the exhaust, which creates more sound, and in some cases drone.

Earlier this month, Kooks sent us a 2.5" version of this catback to test. In testing this, we did it in a "worst case" scenario. An automatic car always drones before an M6, so we chose to install it on my wifes L99 SS. To make the task even harder for the exhaust, we added high flow cats to the car. The cats add sound, and can induce drone with other exhausts. To round it out, we left the car otherwise bone stock with AFM still active.

The exhaust itself is all CNC bent, TIG welded, 304 stainless steel. It comes with Kooks straight through oval mufflers, and 4" double wall tips. It will connect to your stock mid pipes, or any aftermarket mid pipes/headers that retain the stock barrel clamps under the seats.

The videos and pictures below tell the rest of the story. Basically, this exhaust is awesome. It has a great deep rumble, but as the video shows, does not drone. Especially listen towards the end where the car is floored. It goes from being a complete beast under full throttle to so quiet at cruising you can hear only wind noise. Keep any eye out in the sponsor forums for an upcoming introductory sale on these!

Think the stock L99 center muffler creates some friction and restriction?

Unfortunatly not. This car did not have the stock exhaust on it when we did the video (SLP axleback). Plus when it was stock you could barely hear it.

Let me put it this way..I personally never recommend exhausts because everyone has different tastes, and it can open a can of worms. That being said, I have no issue recommending this exhaust to anyone. It sounds great.

Street Sleeper opinion and recommendation

I took advantage of this pricing and had the Street Sleepers installed about a month ago. I have not taken the time to make a sound file but it is a subjective preference anyway. IMHO this is a very nice catback for someone who wants a nice low throaty rumble (yes, much better than stock) at idle and at normal cruise, and who also wants an exhaust that "wakes up" when given the throttle. Personally I think it is great marriage of those two preferences. The cool thing was that the exhaust note got even better after the first week or so.

I have the L99 and the AFM is not a problem for me (I honestly never notice it). I purposefully said AFM because drone is a different deal altogether and I don't personally think that there is any aftermarket performance exhaust that does not have what some would call a drone somewhere in the RPM power band. I drive a heck of a lot in various RPM ranges that folks malign exhaust for drone and I don't see an issue. I think it is a matter of perception and tolerance.

The only down side that I have experienced is that the larger diameter pipes rattle against the stock tunnel brace on a bumpy surface. I’ve had it readjusted and it only stopped briefly. I have ordered an aftermarket tunnel brace with a relief that should hopefully stop this. I would still recommend.

I absolutely love mine. Still quiet at idle but muscle sound and growls with some throttle.
