Is this a decent price

I am seriously looking for an SS, can't quite go with a brand new, but I did find a 2010 with only 20k miles. the dealership is asking 29,900. is it worth it. Obviously I would try to talk them down.

I came across an infernal orange SS with 2,000 miles in the Seattle area for $27K. If you can get 2-3K off the asking price, I would go for it. Those wheels look sharp, too.

Edit: Check out this one (M6, beautiful color, low miles)!

Another M6 with low miles.

That looks to be a fair price, but negotiate with them a bit. I recently had to purchase my SS and here's what I did.

Quote:
Well... here's one snippet of the adventure. Dealer #1 and Dealer #2.

Dealer #1
Bought first car from them and they are close by. After 2 weeks of searching we find one. He wants to ship it over. I say "Send me the spec sheets" so i can find the VIN number. It may take some time, but use online tools to find the physical location of the car. I think I finally found mine on http://www.lemonfree.com/ . I found out the car was at Dealer #2

Dealer #2
Call/email them and give them an offer. Start out way low. That way, when you work your way up, you come closer to the real price that you want. For example, if MSRP is $37k, offer $33k or $34k.

Anyways, I called dealer #2 and said "I'm looking to buy the car. I have found a similar car for $33. But since I have heard great things about you, I don't mind paying $36 for it." Already, that's $1k off MSRP. Wait to hear from them.

Call Dealer #1 and say, "Another dealer has given me a quote for $35k on an identical car." Don't EVER let them know WHICH dealership or WHICH car. Remember, this dealership you are referring to doesn't exist....yet. Let them consider $35k.

Then, sit back for a bit and let them go back and forth lower and lower. Eventually, they will stop at a certain price. Once they have, call the dealership with the best offer and say "The other dealer has promised X discount (say something small. $100 - $300) off if I sign with them today. If you can match it, I'll come over and sign with you instead since you are (nice/closer). Then you can let them in on the secret that you know where the car is and that you think someone else has been bidding on it as well (which is really you!).

Trust me, they will squeeze every last bit out to close the deal. Remember, after 30 days, they have to start paying taxes on the cars in the lot. They want to MOVE UNITS. If they won't drop price, get free oil changes, certificates... whatever out of them. Also, DON'T EVER talk about what the payments will be when negotiating. Discuss the PRICE of the car. The payments are more flexible and dealers use it as a tactic to distract you.

TL: DR verision

Call separate and/or multiple dealerships and have them compete over the same car without letting them know you are the same person. They will do everything to seal the deal and steal the car away from the other dealer.
Just find something about the car and act like you don't like it... they'll come down to make you buy it I'd stop somewhere at $27 - $28

I would say a better price would be 1-2k lower. But It looks like it has a diffrenent exhaust and ofcourse the K&N intake.

Seems ok, nothing spectacular. With new year coming and it being a 2010, I think it may actually be overpriced by a couple grand.

My 2010 SS with insanely low miles (1,100) was $29,900. I negotiated a great trade in deal and a rim tire package for winter (hopefully to go on ebay) so I didnt try to sweeten the deal more. I was happy. Its a 1SS though. I checked local SS's for sale and this was a reasonable asking price in my area (Buffalo, NY). Hope the helps, that was a month ago. That car is a manual which is $2k or so cheaper, however its an RS, so I think its a wash, the price seems reasonable.
