That's pretty much where I thought it would be. Now with some drags... 10's

Pretty impressive numbers, but honestly i thought they would be better based off of power and weight. Either way still two BAD A$$ cars and I would be happy with either.

The real key thing in these numbers is that the ZL1 still pulls more Gs. That's how the ZL1 has the best Nurburrgring time!

Really, still throwing out the "ring" as though it means something to the general public?
Most people, including me, look at 0-60 times, and qtr mile times and speeds. The GT500 is in Z06 territory now. Chevy is trapped now. |

I agree... since when is everyone into road racing? It is what it is.

that's a pretty bad a** car. If only it wasn't so ugly.
highly impressive though. Ford brought their A game on this one. wonder if Chevy will do a revamp on the ZL1 in the next couple of years to make the competition a little closer..........

The apples to apple price is 56,300 for the ZL1 and 61,500 for the GT500. If you're not going to be hitting the road course and can do without the extra handling bits, then the GT500 is 1300 cheaper than the ZL1. |

Why is it silly? People on this thread are saying the shelby is faster that the zl1 on the road track, but there's no proof. To me THAT is silly.
At least we have some actual times for the zl1. But only if I understood more about road racing, I would realize how irrelevant these times are. I must be an expert to understand what's really going on. My father was an amateur racer in europe for a few years. Does this make me an expert? No, but I'm not a complete newbie either. They do things like play video games to learn the track. Or their use their own drivers. Like it's cheating or something. Who cares? Can't ford do the same thing? Or the argument that the 'ring times are not a true measure of a cars ability. I know for a fact that ford has taken the 2013 shelby to the 'ring twice. Maybe someone should tell ford there's no point in going there. I'm waiting for some road track numbers from the shelby. Even though they will be totally irrelevant according to the experts here. Until then the only facts I have to go by are the ZL1's posted times. |

z06s in good air trap 125-127. They pull tons of timing at 90+ degree intake temps so on a good day they can do that, but on a bad day more like 122-123.
You can get z06s for $12k-18k off sticker so the price difference right now isn't there. Once they start discounting the GT500s in a few years then yes. Overall a great car.
