CR's list of cars that you would buy again. Surprising!

Would you buy your car again? Well, according to Consumer Reports...
When polled, owners of their current cars voted by percentage. SO...

In the "sporty car" category, the breakdown goes like this:

Chevy Corvette 91%
Porsche 911 91%
Dodge Challenger (V8) 90%
Ford Mustang (V8) 87%
Mazda MX5 Miata 84%
Audi S4 84%
Chevy Camaro (V8) 84%
Hyundai Genesis Coupe 69%
BMW 128i 66%
Honda CR-Z 63%

It surprises me that the Camaro isn't higher on the list. Thoughts as to why?

Must be a bunch of fourmer Honda owners.

It's been discussed now for years. The Camaro does have some drawbacks.

Visibility for one. Front, back and rear 3/4 are all pretty bad.

High lift over for the trunk

Not a great winter car unless you change tires (SS)

Early cars 2010 - 2012 had (argued a lot here) less than great interiors and materials.

And the early cars didn't have a height adjustable passenger seat. A big problem for my wife in all the Camaros we've driven.

Only decent fuel economy.

So with those, there are people that bought one because it was (and is) the hot looking car. But that doesn't mean they would buy it again.

With the Corvette and Porsche at 91 I think the Camaro at 84 is pretty good. I've only known a few people that buy the same car over.

I'd guess you wouldn't get 100% even if you polled everyone on this website.

An 8 year gap in Camaro production could be part of the poll error.
IIRC, the gen 4 F-bodies were not high on CR's list of reliable vehicles.
CR also does not have a reputation of support for American brands.

Yep, I agree with everything except the Challenger is on the list. It has only been out since 2008. I'm sure CR is not considering the early Challenger's.

I'm not too surprised by the list. At least the Camaro is up in percentage with everything above it. The Genesis Coupe is next behind the Camaro and it is FAR behind.

The Vette takes spot #1. So I doubt it's a foreign make skew.

I was really surprised that the challenger beat both the mustang and camaro especially when not nearly as many of them are sold.

84% is still pretty good considering the top spot is only 6 percent more. Its a tight list.

Who exactly did they poll? lol...

I'd rather see them sample from car enthusiasts. I'm guessing many casual drivers bought every car on that list and lowered the %, not knowing what they were buying.

I think almost everyone on here knew what they were buying and would buy again. And remember just because you say you would buy again, doesn't mean you will.

I'd buy another Camaro, but I also would consider anything else out for 2015 that is nice.

Who said it was an error? 84% isn't even bad.

Very high numbers for each of the Big 3s V8 muscle cars. It would be interesting to know the numbers on the V6 models.

The percentage, or that it was even included on a list of sporty cars.

What about the BMW M3? People who buy that sort of car don't like it?

Is it possible the percentage might be higher if the Camaro was made '03 through '09?
