car won't start, noticed something missing under the hood?

first question is I live in Miami and work from home so I rarely drive. I haven't started my car in over a month (it sits in a condo community garage). I was going for a fun run today when I tried to turn my car on it wouldn't turn over, just clicking noises and then the hazards turned on for some reason. tried again and it just click click click. before I get into the engine part issue I will say once I left and hit the lock button on my key fob, it barely honked, so I'm thinking possibly not starting it for that long ran the battery down too much? would that be a reasonable assumption?

the weird part was after it didn't start I popped the hood and noticed my manifold covers were missing. you know, the plastic that covers the spark plugs assembly on either side of the intake manifold? i now remember my AC went out and I had it tested by Firestone a couple months back and I am betting they took them off while checking for leaks and forgot to install them back? it probably isn't a big deal? just sucks to lose an oem part like that and at this point if I called them they probably wouldn't remember or flat out deny it, but I guess it is worth a shot?

First for the starting issue I would put the battery on a charger, sounds like it is quite dead. Second, yes I would be going back to where you had the work done to see if they kept your cover for you! If they are a reputable shop, they will, hoping that you DO come back to get it. All you have to do is tell them THEY have been the only people under the hood since then.. Good luck.

If that's your original battery, you're overdue for a new one. Life of a battery in our cars is typically 6-7 years. You're a bit over that.

Yea I only meant to get his cover back, otherwise, stay away. Those Firestone places are not of good quality work! One of my gal friends can attest to that.
