Castrol Edge is it good

Has anyone used Castro Edge and had any issues. What's your take on the quality of this brand.

It will do just fine. If you want to geek out on oil and OCIs and UOAs go spend some time on BITOG.

You could't notice a difference in a car you were driving with Amsoil, Castrol, or Redline. Save your pennies, there is a thread on here that says Pennzoil Platinum or Ultra offers the best protection. It beats Royal Purple, Amsoil, Redline, and Mobile One.

It's what all the BMW M-series cars from BMW use.

Does that make it any good? ....... eh. I'd run it, but there's nothing that's going to make me buy it over another brand.

"It" refers to Pennzoil, Mobile 1,??? You use "it" four times, hard enough to understand some post. Four "its" is about as vague as one could get.

"It" refers to the subject of the title of the thread.

Actually there is a huge difference between Amsoil vs stock oil and Mobil 1 and don't talk about Amsoil dominator which shows performance improvements over even Amsoil signature series. My SS accelerates quicker and there is a slight torque improvement. Don't know if it's because I went from 5w30 to 10w 30 but I freaking love this dominator stuff. Too bad my cats don't.

Glad you're happy with your oil. There is no way your butt dyno can tell the difference between 5W-30 and 10W-30. Once the oil warms up, these two grades are exactly the same.

I don't think it has to do with the grade of oil. I was wondering for some strange reason what if Amsoil puts some additive that boost the fuel octane making it feel more powerful. I just took out the Amsoil Dominator because three Amsoil techs said to do so before possible harm is done to my system, so I just installed the Motul 8100 5w30 stuff. Now he car feels normal again like when I had the Amsoil XL or Signature series. I kept some Amsoil Dominator to have it sent in for testing. Remember the Dominator has a ton of ZCCP compared to other regular synthetic oils. Maybe that made the engine operate more freely giving that extra butt dyno feel. Whatever the case I miss it now.

If you can find it, Walmart has the 5 qt jugs of Pennzoil Ultra on sale for 21.00 a jug. Pennzoil is blowing out their stock, as a new formulation is coming in a month or 2 made from natural gas...
http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/pennzoil-q-a/

Pennzoil Platinum® and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum™ Full Synthetic motor oils with PurePlus™ Technology will carry dexos approval for SAE 0W-20, 5W-20, and 5W-30.

This will be the new packaging
