32k miles daily driver
I've had my convertible 2012 2SSRS for 26 months. I have not had any issues with the top. I live in Arizona so I have the top down often and have only had some squeaks in the beginning that I brought in on warranty and have not had since, about 30,000 miles ago. otherwise the only modifications are does a cold air intake and that's pretty much it. I have Hotchkis lowering springs in my garage and sway bars the time yet to put on. I don't know why some tops have problems and ones like mine I have 0 problems. I'm just glad mine doesn't have any.

I suspect that many people that bought convertibles really didn't know what they were getting into. Fabric tops rub and wear (so do vinyl ones). My secret is leave the top down until you are caught out in the rain. Put it up once a year for winter storage and it will increase longevity.

When I put mine down, I pull out the material so it doesn't get compressed in the scissor mechanism. Been working great for 4 years now.
Can you explain a little more about this? Thanks! |
