Sorry - Buying Kooks LTH with hi flow cats connection pipe

I read that cat deletes can get HP, prob cuz flow.

Will you get HP with hi flow cats?

I don't want my car to smell like gas if I get cattless connection pipes.

I live in fl where emissions aren't a problem.

Sorry if it's been answered.

Sure, you could potentially get some power from high flow cats. However, cats aren’t the power-robbing corks they used to be so, the difference between catted and non-catted are substantially closer than they were in the past.

Please, don’t slap this together without properly tuning your car, as well.

United States Chair Force, I know I wasn't very clear.

I will get a tune when the headers do go on, when the purchase happens.

I was in the Navy on a sub. One of those Nukes we were called.

The question is, when buying headers will I make power with hi flow cats from kooks?

I ask because I read that people say just a cat delete = Horsepower. I don't want to waste 200$ on a catted connection pipe when it will just rob performance.

I also don't want my car to smell like gas or exhaust fumes. So I lean to the hi flow cats.

I use it daily.

I talked to the guys from Kooks at PRI a couple years ago and they told me that they don't see much difference with or without cats in terms of gains. It will definitely smell better...

I just got catless Kooks and I love the smell! But, yes the gains should be roughly the same.

LOL

When I was at homestead miami speed way I didn't like the smell of any of the cars with the exhaust/gas smell.

But I like the sound and the small gain with headers.

Going catless on a street car is silly IMO. The HP gains are negligible at best. The smell without them is annoying to the driver and the other commuters that are stuck at a light behind them. I get it if you are trying to make the car as loud as possible or spit fire balls on hard shifts. The pros of cats greatly outweigh the cons.

Best gains and best sound in my opinion. Catless long tube kooks headers and 3 inch stainless steel with AFM delete and NPP delete. Flowmaster DBX. Add some cut outs for the track.

The link should give you a good idea of the gains you will see with Kooks and a tune. In the article they put on the "Green" high flow cats. I have a Kooks full exhaust on my car with high flow cats.

It's 2017 - run the hi-flo cat pipe with your longtubes. It's better for everyone, and you're not gonna miss that ~3hp
