Just had to replace mine, got my windshield from GM and it was only 402$ with tax. And I put it in my self. So I'm just out 400$ not bad.

Funny, I mean not really. But within a month or so after purchase a rock jumped up and got me. No my insurance doesn't cover, no I'm not in FL, and I have a $1000 deductible. So I got it looked at and the guy said he couldn't repair. I said ok, when it starts to spread I'll replace. 14 months later it hasn't started to spread.

Then comes this past Sunday. On the way to Mobile, AL with Alabama Camaros and the windshield gets popped again, but much worse. So I'll be shopping shortly.

Usually, with Full Coverage insurance, GLASS is covered in Full. At least with State Farm it is. I had a 1999 Trans Am, my side window shattered. They replaced it for FREE, along with the regulator in it. NO DEDUCTABLE. If Geico charges you your COMP deductible, that is just LAME and one reason I will never go with them.

I just called my insurance yesterday because i have a rock chip and small crack in my windshield. When i asked about the glass repair policy they said, $1,000 deductible  i said, its just a rock chip that needs to be repaired, they said, $1,000

I called safelite right after and they said that the repair would cost $99 +tax..

I called nationwide and they asked if i had hud and remote start, yes to both. Safelite came out and replaced it for free. No deductible.

Someone seriously help me out here please. I understand why it matters whether or not it's HUD, which I have, but what it is about remote start that matters, which I don't have.

There are 2 style boxes, both are in the same location behind the mirror. But one is horizontal and one is verticle. If you don't have remote start then there is nothing to worry about.
