$24k trade in is extremely high unless that is against MSRP for the new vehicle.

I say 24K is a good deal as camaros are everywhere and prices are getting pretty low. If your planning on trading do it before the end of this year as prices will drop even more after the new year cuz your car will be older by one more year.

How much do you owe on the car? Is he saying He'll take the car, pay off your loan, and give you 4K towards a new car? that might be a good deal if you still owe quite a bit.

I'm still pretty bent: My grandfather came home one day with a new LeBaron. Said he'd traded in the Impala... a flawless, gorgeous, low mileage machine, loaded, maintained meticulously... show quality, and the speedo needle had probably never once crossed the 70 spot.... but the dealer told him that because they liked him, they'd hook him up with a very special trade- in deal, and they gave him $700 for it. See, the blood- thirsty savages saw an old man who wasn't fully aware of all things around him at that point in his life, and they took him for a ride. So yeah... SOME will try the mega- lowball, and some will get it.

What you get for trade-in depends on how much you are paying for the new car, whether or not you decide to get an extended warranty, who is toting the note on the new car and how much APR you are paying.
In other words, you will get $30,000 for your trade if..
1. You pay full msrp.
2. Pay full retail for the extended warranty.
3. Finance company offers kickback and spiffs to the dealer for signing up customers to their company.
4. You pay a high apr.
