Nitto NT555 G2 vs Motivo
Looking at a set of wheels and tires and for the same price can get either the NT555 G2 or Motivo. Which do you prefer or recommend? I currently have the NT05 but the wet handling is terrible and pretty scary.
Sizes are 275/40/20 and 315/35/20. Used for daily driving only, maybe have about 20-30 rainy days a year so it should be good for both dry and wet driving. No drag strip or track racing.

The Motivo is more of a All Season tire.

I had the motivos on my SS and they were great. Both are great street tires and you'll be fine with either. Since you have the 2LS, I'd probably save a little money and go with the motivos unless you want to spend a little more for the more aggressive tread pattern.
Or if you really want to save some money AND get a great tread pattern and performance, you should look into the Atturo AZ850. The 275s run about $105 each and the 315s are about $135 each. I would run these tires on mine but they don't sell a 245/45 20. Check on the many long term reviews on Youtube and Amazon.

Good luck with your choice. I've heard a lot of good things about Nitto 555G2's and will be going with them on my next tire setup.

I’m running Nitto G2s because that’s what the PO installed.
Like a space cadet, I bought new tires PRIOR to becoming familiar with the Gen 5 and bought the wrong size! Do’h! Im getting ready to bite the bullet and go 275 and 305. I’m happy with the G2s although you do have to use caution when wet. Needless to say, I’m not happy with the “stance” |

Just installed G2s and they were the “same size” as my Toyos but we’re actuslly wider. Make sure they’ll fit if lowered at all. First bump the tire caught the fender

i have the Motivos in the sizes you are getting. I have no complaints this far, good traction wet or dry, no road noise. They do smoke pretty good ..lol

I also have the Motivos and really like the ride and handling characteristics, even in the rain. Will be buying them again when the time comes.

For the foreseeable future, G2's will be what this car lives with. These tires are great, hook up very nicely on 315's, and also have an agressive aesthetic look. Thoroughly satisfied with them.

If you want traction and grip try the Nitto 555R's. Excellent wet manners and great dry launches.

I have the Motivos now with factory sizes (245/45 and 275/40). They are a decent street tire but I'm not impressed with performance driving. They spin easy with moderate throttle and the sidewalls flex in hard corners. I came from the factory Pirellis and there was an immediate difference in body roll (advantage to Pirellis). When my Motivos are done, I think I'll try the 555 G2's.
