Went with manual, couldn't get around the fact that the L99 had less compression , and horsepower................. JRJ

Same here! But at least my wife lets me have any mods I want so it was a fair trade.

Because I like playing with my stick?
True story though, the day I bought my car I met my brother and his family for dinner. Here's the ZL1, blah blah, look around and all that. I told him that the automatic had a faster 0-60 time, a faster quarter mile time, and a higher top speed. He said "So why did you get the manual?" To this day I'm still stumped by that question. But I do like the manual. Oh, and I'm guessing I may have already posted this story, went back through have of this thread looking, got bored, skipped to the end.

I went with the manual so I can stall it out sitting on an upgrade and releasing the clutch!

Stick! I feel that muscle and sports cars are known for having stick because it's better for going around a track so you gotta keep the reputation. And it's just more badass and fun

Automatic. Semi-daily driver. Plus, after years of driving in rush hour traffic in Miami with a stick, I really hated it. DC is no better. If I were buying just to show and put on the track occasionally, then I would have gone manual... or course, I would have also gone V8 then as well. Since I have an hour commute, I stuck with the automatic and the V6 for gas mileage and lack of insanity in traffic.

automatic. Took me a long time to decide. Might of been wrong although. I absolutely do not like AFM. Ahh, it's a little to late.

My choice was simple.. I have always had automatics.. and I wanted to try something new.. My old 99 Firebird was an A4 and I wished I had gotten a manual.. so my SS was a no brainer and I have not looked back since..
