Actually you do NOT want to dump the clutch as in side-step it or dump it. Release the clutch quickly but smoothly and don't "dump" or "side-step" it. And yes...you leave the throttle to the floor and never lift it even for a split second. Once the ECM see's less than 100% throttle position it will take you out of launch control mode.

the key is to stomp the gas down, if you ease the throttle up it doesnt rev lock

The clutch has to be released very fast. Not side stepped, but as fast as you can pull your foot back. Any slower and it's a good chance at smoking the clutch.

It's a feature I'll never use on my SS, seen too many people break all kinds of parts trying to use it - just out of curiosity. The ZL1 having better parts, should be better.... but all that wheel hop on a clutch dump can destroy even the strongest drivetrain parts. A good driver can use their feet for launch control.

Hi guys, I put them on my L99 earlier today and I have noticed a huge difference on the throttle responce the on the car now. It accelerates way quicker, I love it!

Therefore, the clutch engages about about 1.5-2 inches of pedal travel so that's all you really need to use when either regular shifting or no lift shifting. It will require some practice and mental adjustment at first with the no lift and you will get a "surge" of power as the torque is held up when you shift just like you do when POWER shifting...since that is essentially what you are doing anyway
I got a chance to try this today. Thanks for the info. Made 2 shots at it using launch control and no lift shift, and one pass with launch control, but lifting in between shifts and one pass with all nanies off. The car is alot of fun and I can diffenitly use some more practice.

Out of three Launches with the launch control on, i did get wheel hop on one pass. I dont have much time behind the wheel doing this so it may just be someting I am doing wrong

I also had trouble the 1st time i tried. I fiddled with a few different things to get it to work. Pretty sure mine didn't work the first time because i had my cruise control set to on.

Tried the launch control at the track last Frday and it gave me too much tire spin, and I used mode 4. I had my best time without it. I also need more practice but still fun! I'm going to get some drag radials and try the launch control again. No lift shift works really goog. Kept the car at around 4500 rpm's in between shifts. The heads up display w the shift points was nice to. Can't wait to go out again!

Google "Ranger driver mod". This guy has some great tips on how to launch a Z06 that I think would apply to our Z's as well or any car with a manual gear box and plenty of hp/torque! He holds the current record of fastest run in a stock Z06 with DR's...High 10'sec pass!!!!

So once I get launched can I just keep the gas pedal down while I use the clutch to go through the gears?
