6 goes into 10

Took the 2SS to the dealer, first in for convenience, for the first oil change on Chevy. Drove to work then lunch and add oil message comes on. Check stick and no oil on the mark. Add 1 quart, drive to dealer and am told the tech doesn't usually work on Camaro or Vette and put in only 6.

Drove about 40 miles 4 qt so low, for some reason, never really got on it. Opinions appreciated on all facets, thanks

unbelievable.

my dealer almost did the same thing on my first oil change but he quickly remembered that it was the same LT1 as the corvette, and he gave it the 10 that it calls for.

keep all documentation. if anything breaks, then that will be your proof of negligence from your dealer.

BTW, adding the 1 qt, made the add oil go away, don't know if that is the trigger point. And the dealer did not top off, but drained and added all new 10

All these stories is getting me to seriously consider learning how to change my own oil if/when I get the Camaro.

I've never had any bad experiences with my Chevy dealer, but freak I wouldn't want to take the chance.

Big hint-always pull your dipstick and check it BEFORE you leave the dealer Always-I do it right in the service drive in front of them!

It's probably the easiest oil change I've ever done.
Now, I don't have a lift, so learning how to properly get under it is a whole other story. I still have to find a set of long ramps that work without mangling the rubber skirts in the front.

I haven't looked at the manual, yet, but I'm leaning towards this.

Is it true that the recommended oil is a blend?
