2010/11 or 2014/15?

Hey all!

I've been having fun poking around the forums, learning, getting educated on the Camaro and the various aspects of it. I'm looking to buy sometime this summer and I wanted to gain some insight from the Camaro community on which version of the 5th Gen to go after.

My only real requirements are:
Coupe
2SS (not necessarily RS)
Automatic (I have nerve and joint damage in my left ankle that makes clutch modulation problematic)

I know the 2014/15's are a bit heavier than the 2010/11 cars, but beyond that are there any particular pluses or minuses to either version? It looks like the average price difference is about $8,000 or so given similar equipment.
I know the 2011's got the HUD and the 14/15's got MyLink. What I am meaning is cooling issues and such. Suspension isn't really a factor since I'll be replacing it with aFe featherlites and some other goodies.

Why are you apologizing for the automatic? There better imo for several reasons. Don't rule
out a low mileage '10 SS. Mine has been trouble free for almost 7 years, only needing one
tail lamp bulb in all that time. They can be bought now for about $20,000.
Good luck with your search.

You can't go wrong with either. I'm partial to the 10/11 because I like the old style tail lights. Look at the service records and buy the one you like. You can replace the radio in the older ones but whose to say the My Link is any better? There are always issues with that although mostly minor.
I love My automatic, you don't have to justify one or the other to Us, what ever fits your fancy!

Determine which you like the looks of better. There were some changed things obviously between 10 and 13. Hud, different suspension set up, interior dash and steering wheel, body colored antenna, rims, to name a few. I just got a 10 2ss for 24k a few mo the back with 9k miles on it in NJ for reference.

All years were great in my opinion. Although, I feel (and I would have if I could have) go with at least a 12 for some of the better options they added.

From what I read they're about 35lbs heavier due to the changes needed for the ZL1 and drop tops.

I love my 2010, but if I were in the market looking right now I would probably go for a 14-15. I like the front bumper, hood, suspension, MyLink, and the Z28 style spoiler better. I do like my tail lights but I could live with the later years too.

2013 models get the best pf both worlds from the early 10-12' rear ends. The 13'+ get the better suspension and updated steering wheel and MyLink goodies.

I would get the car with best value regarding year, mileage, options, condition, and price.
