How do you guys justify spending tons of money on our cars? [I Need Help!]

Well, I've always wanted to ask the community how you guys justify spending lots of money on your Camaro(s). I work full time and work extremely hard to earn my money, so I like to know that it's going towards something I love (my car!). But, I still feel a bit of remorse when I spend a lot of money on aftermarket parts, as spending money in general makes me feel a bit guilty. So, how do you guys cope with the bittersweet feeling? I need advice!

Thanks!

The smile it brings to my 11 year old sons face every time he gets in the car is all the justification I need.

I understand how you feel. but sometimes you have to view it as you have one life to live, and as long as I can afford the other stuff I have to pay for, why not save up and buy something nice for myself and the car. hey it could always be worse right?! extra cash could be going toward drugs lol

It's your car. So make it yours. There are a lot of Camaros out there, so make yours stand out and be proud to say "that's MY Camaro!". Not trying to down on anyone who has only stock parts because the Camaro itself is an amazing and beautiful machine.

Life is short. My parents never spent any money on anything, they just put it away. When they passed away, there was more than 7 figures. Why didn't they enjoy some of it? I'm going to.

Spend, as long as you also save, because you only have one life. If you have children, then definitely put things aside for them as well... but not at the cost of not enjoying yourself also.

When I go on vacation and spend disposable income the enjoyment only last a week and is gone. Each time I drive my "Modded" car I get enjoyment. At least that's how I justify it.

I work a ton of hours every week managing a restaurant. I make enough money to pay all my bills (insurance, car payment, etc..) and then have some left over to save. Luckily growing up I learned the value of saving and being smart with money. I've learned enough to be able to spend money I want to spend, buy what I want, and do what I want. I know to many people who live pay check to pay check and that's just not fun. As long as your smart with your dollar you can make things work. As long as I know in the long run I have the ability to spend some money in car parts I'm going to enjoy every second of it. Buying different parts for my camaro is just another enjoyable thing to do in life.

Thanks for all of your opinions, guys. I really appreciate it. I've always felt guilty about spending money, so it makes this whole process difficult. I see something affordable that would be awesome for my car, but I still feel a bit of remorse if/when I purchase it.

I can afford it. But... I spend an absorbenant amount of time reviewing and looking at mods and really get choosy on what I go with and spend within reason and justifiable. I did mostly exterior appearance mods. Now doing a few under hood mods. But subtle ones. I could afford a whipple, headers, etc. But then I think....why! The car is quick enough for the street and fun to drive. So even though I can afford to do it, it does not make sense.

So how do I justify it? I raced cars for 23 years and spend hundreds every week in fuel, racing tires, oil, entry fees, etc. All race cars are sold! I can afford to put the money into my toy! However, it is only justifiable for you if you can put food on the table, pay your rent/house payment, and basic living expenses first. If not, you should just drive what you can afford in the condition it is in.

Live within your means and don't be "car poor"

I'm young and don't know how to manage my money lol jk. I'm 20 years old and after my next semester of school is paid and all my bills are paid I don't have anything else to spend my money on other than my car. Sometimes I won't spend money on the car and spend money on myself(clothes, vacation, etc)
