I get a kick out of the engagement argument when none of the modern equipment has the same engagement as the old. None of us are purests anymore. The engagement argument is one of degrees. Can't we all get along? If someone wants to buy an A10 because their friend blew an engine 2 years ago on a missed downshift at the track... great? If you want more engagement than the A10... perfect. But there is no right or wrong answer for everyone, just preferences which we should all respect.
I actually turn all that driver assist stuff off every time I get in my car, with the exception of active rev match...that's just cool, whether you're running it hard or cruising around. If I could turn ABS off I would. Track mode, Race, all the nannies off, and oh yeah, rowing my own gears. It's just more fun that way, versus gas, brake, steer. Keep your paddles

I've been driving automatics exclusively for 18 years now. Been trying out cars to settle on my next one.

So far Mustang GT and EcoBoost, Camaro all engines and today Mercedes AMG GLA 45 (Turbo 4) . All are 4 second 0-60 and I believe 12 second 1/4 milers.

All good, however the Camaros are the top of the heap. The SS is probably the best car I've ever driven - it's magic.

TO get to teh point when I was driving the AMG today I missed shifting. I think it's a manual tranny again for me, although the Autos today are superior in terms of speed and economy.

Manuals I think are just more fun. If you can afford 2 cars, get one of each

But damn the ZL1 is a fantastic car!!!! Way to go GM

Al Opp stated that moving forward the A10 would be as significant to the brand as the heritage of the small block has been. That's powerful

Definitely, hail to the A10!! It is so much fun no matter how it's shifted....paddles.....shifter.....or full auto. Al and the team also stated the A10 as being a game changer, and from what I'm experiencing, all these statements are proving true. It just sounds so cool as the car goes through all those gears so quickly and smoothly.....and the sound and feel of the top gear drop to 2nd or 3rd, with the nearly instant and endless acceleration that follows, is just so amazing and exhilarating!

Amen to all of the above....

I find it amazing some still hang on to some sort of pick and choose logic or pattern of legacy and purism to win an argument about equipment or a model line....GM and Chevy don't care, and neither should we....It all went out the window long ago....

Yeah, it's powerful alright....Powerful enough to start meaningless bickering over someone's choice or preference....

I love this car but I would be really upset if I had gotten it and the ZL1 1LE came out right afterwards... ugh, that was messed up!

Meh. You'll be able to add the same or better parts aftermarket, for the same or less pricing, and in doing so be more proud of your own work.

I'm kinda feeling that tail on the 1LE, might consider adding to my ZL1.
