Splitter Installed, NYPD Likes!!!
Well finally after a month of sitting in my basement i got a chance to get the front Black Front Fascia Extension/Splitter installed by my local auto shop. $50 for the install and about 45 minutes was complete. I purchased the Splitter from Maureen at Rogers Chevrolet and arrived in perfect condition with lots of goodies. This was one of the main mods i wanted for this car besides the Blade spoiler when or if they ever update it for the SS. In my area (Queens NY) since i picked up my Camaro in December i have not seen even one on the road in site. After i got the Splitter installed i bumped into a few of New York's Finest at one of my stores. They never seen the 2016 Camaro and told them to get in for a few pictures for the Camaro forums. Awesome set of guys in the neighborhood. I busted there chops a bit and told them when they see my car rumbling down the streets by their precinct don't pull me over, Funny thing they said they should close the street that we were on so i can do some doughnuts!

Thanks everyone for the feedback and compliments! Finally getting my car visually to where i want it now. It's been sitting in the garage on and off with the cold weather snow and rain we been having. Glad i am finally getting more use out of it, all 780 miles LOL. Ever since i got this beast i find i love it more and more everyday. Kinda nuts how every time i drive it many people ask me is that the new Camaro? Can't wait till they fix the pot holes around here. The roads sucks pretty bad in my neck of the woods...

Awesome story. I'm a Police Officer in R.I. and have a 2016 1SS on order. I'm obviously a total gearhead like most guys on here and will stop guys from time to time just to check out their car. They are so happy when I walk up to the window and say "Do you know why I stopped you?" They reply " No Officer". And I say "Because this car is badass! Had to check it out!". They instantly smile and we talk cars a few till we go about our day.

The world needs more stories like this , Great to hear police acting like people and people like you giving them respect , That is what the police should be all about meeting their community and being involved in it .

My favorite thing to do as a cop is pulling up to a cool car, and telling the driver to rev it up, most people are a little hesitant at first but once they realize I'm not messing with them the look on their face is priceless, they give it a few good revs and get a thumb's up. One dude in town has a black v6 5th gen and he must of seen me driving into work in my SS one day, then spots me later in the day in uniform and is like holy crap that was you in that sick camaro! Spent like 30 minutes talking about cars, turns out his brother owns a zl1 and gtr.
Best car story I have is me and my partner are talking about the SRT Challengers and Hellcats right after the refresh, next thing you know some guy comes barreling down doing double the speed limit. What do you know, brand new gorgeous SRT Challenger. Go up to the driver and tell him how much I love his car, and he tells me it's a Hellcat. So I'm like hmmm, no hellcat badge on the fender, so I ask him if I can check out the engine, he pops the hood and its a 392, no blower! He insisted it was a hellcat, and I didn't want to burst his bubble so I just let him go with a warning and hoped he didn't pay for a hellcat lol. |

I'm sure I'll run into Paul Blart and his friend in August and will be sure to print and store this in my glove compartment LOL. Funny thing is that I've only seen 1 gen6 on the highway in NY and it was a white LT driven by an old man with white hair and a beard.
