The force the door hinge can withstand isn't important. It's designed to hold the mass of the door as pulled downward by gravity. The piece of the car that IS designed to support someone's 200lb ass, is the seat.

Tell your friend to get his ass of your door and have a little respect. It's your car, and you don't want people sitting on, or leaning against the door. Period.

Nobody leans on my car and nobody touches my car without my permission... unless my back is turned and I missed it.

Sent from somewhere on the road.

Sounds like it's time to make a new friend.

Or to introduce your friend's ass to your foot.

I never do that and I have never had anyone do that to my car. Once time I got it cleaned and picked a buddy up from the club, had a bunch of girls taking photos with it and had their finger prints everywhere! Felt like punching them I'm their faces lol!

It doesn't feel like it takes to much to break/snap something if you want wanted to do so. The wind blew my door all the way open one day and I thought my hinges were going to break in half. And the sound it made as it bounced off the doors limit point

If your door is still aligned and functional I'd say the hinges will support ~350 lbs. (door plus friend). Sure wouldn't push more on it. We have a winner. 350 lbs!

This can be a serious problem. I had a Ford E350 van which had pretty strong doors, but one of the rear doors was sprung by a mechanic leaning on it for I-don't-know-how-long. It was so far out of square the window shattered shortly after I got it back. Of course, the shop denied that it was caused by them, but another customer told me what he saw. Since insurance covered the replacement of the window it was not worth the cost or expense to pursue them, but I tell anybody who will listen to avoid that shop.
