Im thinking it may be a squeaky belt, the idler is right there and she hasnt been running since last fall, the lobes on the cam look perfect from what i can see looking down the passenger side lifter bores, no scratches or anything, i can only see a few lobes on the drivers side and they look fine, noise wasnt coming from that side anyway, could be an exhaust leak but I dunno. Going to bolt it all back together tomorrow and see what happens.
Before I tore it down it was running pretty damn decent considering it didnt have a tune on it, so maybe i was being paranoid and assuming the worst?

Before you seal everything back up, pour some oil over the rockers and springs. They may just be dry. The LS engines dont push a ton of oil up there.

I think Rhino is on the right track.

Check out this thread. Its damn near identical to the issue you're having.

Ill say the noise does sound completely identical, I dont recall an exhaust leak before the swap but a greater lsa would make such a leak more pronounced, hmm several things to check in the morning, thanks guys!

I had a slight chirping noise much like the video, only not as loud. Car had sat for 7 months prior. Took it out for a good highway run and noise disappeared and never came back.

I had pulled the valve cover to check for anything obvious and couldn't find anything. I have the 445 camp package from Jannetty.

Read this.....sounds alot like mine did....turned out that squeak was a very bad header-head leak, installed new header gaskets....sounds good now

Sorry, meant to update. Put the head back and everything back together and the noise is completely gone! Figured it must have been an exhaust leak! Thanks guys!
