Glad you got it figured out and not with any bad news. I'm still astonished that there is a lack of oil in the valve train while a motor has ran that long. Makes you wonder..... Almost tempted to take a valve cover off and see if this happening to all of us. Still having a hard time believing the lack of lubrication is normal.

Yea! Been lurking this thread out of curiosity and concern for you. Great news!! When you get it back give us one last update with a vid so we can see and hear it the way it's suppose to run.

So what was the tapping sound? Exhaust leak?

I guess so they said there will still be a little noise from the flame travel in the headers due to running rich...still needs a tune.

Well good deal man. This is why I kept telling you to ck compression. If you would've checked compression from the beginning then you would have known right away that the engine was ok and it was something on the outside, as it was this time with the gasket leak and coil connections. But anyways glad to see it wasn't anything major.

And if you don't mind posting a video of the valvetrain after its fixed just to compare before and after because it really sounded bad in the video like something internal was wrong. You may just have too good of a mic on your video camera lol.

Fyi picked car up this evening....driving 15miles untuned took a slight learning curve(kept dying if I just left off the gas too quickly) Sounds much better now, will post a video tomorrow(will piss off my neighbors). It sounds mean.....Changing plugs tonight (TR6), and topping off tranny fluid, change oil(BR30) hopefully get matt@fsp to tune(remote) tomorrow. Hoping for 505-515rwhp(if this p&p on the heads is as good as he says it is).

Ya, I said a couple pages back that when I run mine without covers on, I barely see any oil coming up. Sure wasnt anything like my ZZ4!

I bet there are going to be a few shops checking this to confirm if they haven't already. I would have never thought it would be that bad. Most SBC's will spurt out of the pushrod/rocker just by turning them over let alone while running..... So either the LS motors are different in that regard or there is some voodoo going on.

Yeah it fired funny in the first vid, like firing order was wack. I have done that before.
