I think I would be concerned that running any engine for that long and not see any oil pumping to the valve train would be my main concern. What is your oil pressure at running?

Something is definitely wrong there. There is clearly no oil getting to the top of the motor. You should be spraying oil everywhere.

My guess is that something is blocking the oil galleys between the block and head.

There are no oil galleys between the block and head. The oil galleys feed the main bearing, cam bearings and lifter galleys. What did you use to hold the lifters up during the cam swap?

That sounds terrible. I wouldn't run it anymore. Sounds more valve train than anything. I would tear it down before running it again. Did you put cylinder 1 at TDC when you aligned the spockets?

I used wooden dowels 5/16(I read that was the recommended size), Im not going to run it any more...Going to get it towed to 510 racing....I really wish I could have got someone to call me back @ lethal(I call every other day for about a week..) for them to do the install, I could never get an official quote, so i decided to try this myself, and look where that got me.

Yes it was set to number tdc for #1 that is shown from the picture(if the crank is at 12 it has to be #1 @tdc

Thanks guys for your support, will keep yall up to date through it all. Tomorrow I will be testing compression just for a little idea of what im looking @ and maybe drain the oil/ open filter ...Then mon I will be calling up a tow truck to take her up to 510 racing. Ive heard that they do some good work (JR is deff a good guy to chat with, very informative, hopefully they will show me a little compassion(went well over budget on the initial build...)

You should have oil coming up that way, to me it sounds like a lack of lubrication on those rockers......

If you really think its a lubrication problem, dump some oil on each rocker and see if the noise goes away. Ive started my car numerous times without the covers and have barely seen oil coming in. I was shocked at the lack of oil actually.

In post #29 you said you had 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 turns on preload, that is one turn to much. You have way to long a push rod. The way I checked mine was tighten the rocker bolt untill you have a slight drag on the push rod, that is zero lash, it then should take about 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn to tighten the rocker bolt to the speced torque. Sounds like your push rods are way to long and the lifter plungers are bottomed out and not getting the correct oiling they need. My preload was 3/4 of a turn and that is the number I try to stay close to. If that is the problem it should be an easy fix.
