LIFT POINTS ON ZL1 - WARNING

Ha! Took my car to a local shop the other day. Drove it up on wood risers to insure getting the lift arms under the rocker panels to the frame. He almost started to put the FRONT arms directly beneath the rocker panel at the front. I told him STOP... move the arms inward towards the Catalytic Converter. IF lifting at the rocker panel it WILL BEND the plastic rocker panel. WATCH CAREFULLY. Lots of folks just run and gun without respect for details and you will pay the price.

He followed my instructions! All oil & diff lube changed!

Here is a pic of proper location done by dealer on PDI.

I will never trust a shop that does not look at what he is doing? Good job there buddy.

I had to put the small bushings on the arms on my lift so the arm didn't hit the plastic rockers. I marked on the floor the exact right spot for the car, now it is easy.

Yep...same problem in the Corvette community because of the low ride height with rockers. Thought maybe the ZL1 would get away with it but doesn't look like it. Invest in some lifting pucks to keep in the trunk for when you have to put the car on a lift.

This was a major concern for my '07 Sol GXP. A GM lifting procedure for the cars were roundly ignored. I had body damage one day, from dealer maintenance. And on that day, not one person on planet Earth was happy when I found out

I would recommend that you ZL-1 guys get copies of the GM lifting procedure for your cars and make sure your shops are very clear on it by giving them a copy, talking to your service managers about how deviating from that GM procedure is unacceptable, and that you will be checking for damage with them after each service. Protect your cars- you paid good money for that ZL-1- protect it

You're lifting it on the front clip, right? The driver's side seems to be barely on it, but it may just be the photo.

let me know if you find a spot for lifting pucks. I found nothing on the Camaro like the Vette has.
