How to tell if a car has mag ride?
I've been eyeing sixth gens on a dealer auction site and will proxy bid on one tomorrow. Is there anyway to tell in pics or from a VIN number that a car has mag ride?

The only way I know of if a car has Magnetic ride is if you can manually change the suspension settings within the settings menus.

RPO code 55 if you have a pic of the build sheet. Or a close up of the lower control arm.

I have also heard you can call a dealer parts department with the VIN and they might check it for you. I also did some experimenting and at Gmparts you can enter the VIN number and you could call them and see what shock you need. If it's a variable then you know its mag ride.

Check visually
You will see the little sensor and the little arm on each suspension.... |

what biscuit said, or just see if you can change the suspension settings on the dash. If you cant, no mag ride.

If you can view or get a picture of the RPO codes from the decal in the trunk, it will have RPO F55. Else, from the VIN, any GM dealer service department can run a VIS report and it will give you a listing of all standard and option content that came on the car.
