Because I am thinking about buying the extended warranty for my car
They refund a pro rated portion of it because I choose to cancel it. Not to me because the bank technically owns my car
Bank gets the money and it comes off the loan.
They cannot cancel your warranty, just refuse to cover items they deem failed due to your modifications

I called the GM warranty number and told them I was going to cancel the extended warranty. They emailed me a form to fill out and take to the dealer.

From Dean Myers Chevy they can install headers and I don’t think they will void your warranty if the work is done by them. You should contact Dealerwerx Performance.

I waited 10k miles before opening up the motor.. but technically I added some bolt-ons that some dealers would consider voidable offenses very early on.

I waited 6k simply because that's when I decided to add a SC, but I see value in waiting a few thousand to make sure your motor gets past the very small risk of manufacturer defects that have claimed a couple motors here.

The true test isn't the dealer but the manufacturer - if you come in for a major failure the dealer will collect the info on the car's configuration and send it to the manufacturer to approve the repair.

You don't blow your warranty, only on the exhaust. I verified with my dealer today, that if I had already installed Borla exhaust, they wouldn't cover any exhaust issues. But rest of warranty would still be intact. I just got mine back today after 43 days in the shop and a complete motor replacement.

Motor alone runs $11K - $13K. Crazy.

My dealer's service manager said they see most motor failures in Corvettes and Camaros within the first 15,000 miles. He said he wouldn't recommend any serious motor mods or tunes before then, unless warranty repairs don't matter to you. Any major motor repairs requires them to download ECM data including the flash counter and send to GM before they get approval to do anything.
He then showed me a new ZL1 with less than 500 miles on it that they putting a different pulley, headers and other mods. He said "This customer has money to burn."
