I also would point out that while the SS may be controversial, the RS is not. Also 2 ...leftover 2018s helped Q1 2019? ...how did leftover 2017 help Q1 2018?

No surprise Challenger does well. It's the SUV of this segment.
As far which of the three is most profitable, I would guess Mustang based on fleet sales to rental agencies. Based on my observation and no actual data. |

If you consider that Dodge and Ford may still be making fleet sales then who is the joke on???
More or less Sports cars purchases continue to fall across the entire segment and all brands. Often what changes that is a considerable refresh but we of course know that comes with a lot of investment. Can you imagine the money it took to develop the C8 Corvette??? Fleet sales are not usually directly profitable. What they may help is in volume of parts discounts. |

Yawn. I can guarantee you GM's profit margin on camaro is much better. Anyway, who cares if Challenger sells well? It just shows there is a good market for a large size muscle car suitable for highway cruising and the occasional straight line pull. I'm not sure why that is concerning to anyone. At this point the Challenger is in a completely different segment, and not many are cross-shopping camaros and challengers.

Camaro can't touch challenger profit margin - that tooling been paid for almost 10 years now! And that platform is shared w 4 door charger which moves more cars than coupe and plenty of fleet and police sales.
Only thing camaro has, it shares platform w cadillac, but again, very low volumes. Don't worry, there's camaro rental cars too.. head on over to Hertz.

Due to some crazy cheap lease deals and easy credit V6 Challengers and Ram 1500 litter trailer parks around here.

GM was the biggest automaker in the world in terms of sales a few years ago and went bankrupt with that stategy. Just an example from 2018: VW sold 6,2 million cars, made 3,2 billion profit Audi sold 1,8 million cars, made 4,7 billion profit Porsche sold 256 thousand cars, but made 3,1 billion profit Of course this is just the different VW brands, but you can also break this down to different vehicles. You can't judge profit of a car just by comparing the pure sales numbers. You profit depends on if the people actually spend their money on the high equipment, additional packages, etc. And if you look at Q1 numbers, you have to look at the whole thing: Mustang 16,917 (-11.7%) Challenger 13,431 (-24%) Camaro 12,083 (+2.5%) Challenger going down 24% compared to Q1 2018 is a big thing, it's crazy how automobile sites are selling the Q1 2019 sales as a big win for Dodge...
