I got to drive my buddy's 2015 ZL-1 a few months ago and I completely agree. MRC is one of the best things GM makes. It makes a huge difference in the handling and ride quality. Its a must have on any V8 Camaro as far as I'm concerned.

FYI, having MRC doesn't improve handling numbers if that's you thing. Many think it does, but that's not the case really. People tracking their SS will usually not get MRC. Many Vette guys who track theirs a lot have swapped out MRC for coilovers. The best test numbers so far show that as well, being that a non MRC car has put down the best handling numbers. But, MRC helps keep the ride nice even on cruddy roads and such big time. So if you're daily driving it, get MRC. But if it's a weekend car, or will see lots of track time, pass on it.

Also I don't think I could get a Z28 for a DD, the lack of tech/luxury features in 70k+ (or 65k for this black friday "deal") car just couldn't justify the cost for me. I can definitely see why a track enthusiast would. But as something only going to the track a few times a year the 16 SS is the way to go for me. |

I'd appreciate your advice guys/gals..
Either : available now- 2016 2SS loaded = $47000 MSRP wait / hope. - 2017 2SS 1LE. = $52000 MSRP estate available now - 2010 911S 6sp CPO with 2 year extended warranty = they're asking $58k from original MSRP of $99k. I believe I can talk them (Porsche dealership) down $5k... so $53K est.. Which would you choose. Keep in mind, we're talking about a 997b 911S...the last hydraulic steering pcar. Weighs nearly 500lbs less than the 2SS.. rear seat room near identical, but visibility in the Porsche is superb #! |

Your info says you already have a Honda. Why would you want a Porsche?

Care to explain? I still don't understand how Honda = Porsche.
Now this is a valid point. Even maintenance costs of a Porsche better be factored into your budget. They are brutal. |

To explain my reasoning, a 1LE will probably cost nearly the same as this 2010 911S (say $53K). It's a CPO in near mint condition..with another two years and 50k miles of factory warranty. Sure maintenance costs will be high.. but you only live once... I really love the way this gen Camaro is turning out. I truely do. The Camaro is transitioning from a pony muscle car, into a more serious sports/car-coupe-GT that can rival respected European sports sedans. Also, It would feel great to purchase an American car, especially these days. But, at the same time I can't help but think (especially when reminded by the occasional immature remarks).. demographically speaking, i mean, given I'm 42.. I feel maybe the 911 might match my needs/wants better... Last edited by juzefzoozoo; 12-07-2015 at 04:44 PM. |

Yep <--- answer to your initial question. Yes the 997 911S is a non-turbo, a well known fact that is typically (universally really..besides youself) celebrated. Coincidentally. .the 2017 911,911S will be turbos.. something I find troubling.

Not kidding a bit. Maybe it is me but felt the car was boring to drive. ALthough, I have drove a lot of cars and maybe look for different things in a once in a lifetime car. Also once in a lifetime to me is McLaren MP4-12C Spider I drove through the mountains in colorado two weeks ago. V8 twin turbo carbon fiber awesomeness. Then for about 30 miles through the mountains a Lamborghini superleggera. Although I drive a motorcycle everyday to break up a 45 minute one way ride. Same reason I bought a 455 hp v8 camaro to drive 20k miles a year. I can see driving a honda crv going to a porsche with 385hp making you feel like a kid.
