Looks like we have a new player in the near future for catch cans for the camaro.

This actually looks like a better route as you can see the level of oil in the can to drain. Hope they use some black braided hose instead of the clear plastic though.

Most people don't grasp things like this, and can easily overlook them. But, a catch can with a competent user that empties it at specific intervals will save your intake tract a big mess. Not to mention, valve deposits can, and will, rob you of serious HP over the course of time.

So, I urge you all to get familiar with what I am saying, and do yourself a favor and invest in a quality catch can.
Agreed 100%! For the low cost of a catch can solution, it provides a huge value in terms of preventative maintenance and power retention. For those picking up a new SS, I would recommend a catch can as one of your first modifications.

Correct, the LT1 Camaro receives an air/oil separator for the valve cover breather ports. Lines run from both valve covers into this device, which separates the fluid from the air. Once complete, clean air returns to the intake and oil makes its way back to the crankcase internally. From our first inspection, this system appears to function pretty well.

That being said, the PCV-side of the system does not feature an AOS. The PCV valve vents right into the intake manifold, meaning oil byproduct is making its way into the manifold and eventually the valves themselves. We’ve opted to develop a kit specifically for the PCV-side of the system, as we’ve found through previous R&D that this circuit produces the most oil byproduct.

We are putting some road mileage on our prototype system and should have some neat data to share soon!

Any car can benefit from a catch can solution, even port injection vehicles. The valve deposit issue is just further accentuated with the design of a DI system. In port injection, fuel is sprayed pre-valve and has the chance to clean the valve of debris and buildup. In a DI motor, fuel is injected directly into the cylinder, therefore the cleaning properties of the fuel are not taken advantage of. This is explained in greater detail (with images) within our catch can thread linked below.

Thanks Drivingagain! The linked can is one of our older, non-baffled universal catch cans. We are actually designing a direct-fit kit for the 2016 SS. This will include our new baffled oil catch can, a direct-fit catch can bracket, and pre-molded silicone lines. We are just wrapping up the R&D for our kit, and will be launching a discounted pre-sale for you guys.
For more details on our project, check out the thread below.
