Convenience and lighting Package

So........ just something im pondering on. I like the digital layout on the dash which comes with the convenience and lighting package. I think its only available on 2lt and up i believe.I went with the 1lt. Is it possible to do a swap? Or would the 8" mylink be needed as well. Im sure someone else has pondered the same.

I would love to do this as well but have not seen anything, anywhere about making this upgrade.

Interesting question. You need to get the data to the digital gauges somehow. Is that routed through the mylink infotainment module? I don't know. I'm not even sure if the wiring would be there on a 1LT. There may also be an intermediate module.

This is open heart surgery. It will take new harnesses, new displays, new software, I'm sure some of the software is not available from GM.

PM Gen5DIY or GTPprix. They are the resident experts in hacking the HMI and BCM. If it's possible they can probably tell you what's involved. You can bet it will not be cheap.

Its one of the next things we are working on, i order all the parts we think are needed, after that its going take time to make the wires, one thing we know as of right now, you will need IP and parts of the 8" to make it work, IMO we are 2-6 months out at this time.

Any parts i could pull from a salvage? Things i might need along with the wires you guys will produce. I have a guy i can currently get the cluster from.....Pretty much the whole car is available for parts.

Both dash clusters are in need of being replaced. Not sure why GM didn't just go with a single lcd screen for the entire thing. Would have been cheaper, simpler and offer way more end user flexibility with customizing the layout.

Nothing more aggravating about the dash cluster than having that stupid analog speedo that you can't even really see because it's blocked by the steering wheel partially while having a perfectly visible and readable speedo in the center at the same time. Total waste.
