I love the interior but right now the people who design the Scosche radio face plates must be smashing their computers and rage quitting.

I was just going to ask why they bolted the whole My Link thing onto the face of the dash. Instead of, I don't know, maybe recessing it? Looks like an after thought.

Looks like they mounted an old Apple computer or CRT monitor to the dashboard. Also what is that sticking up on the top center? A speaker?

One thing I like even though Iam not getting a 6th gen is the cup holder placement. About time.

Front of it reminds me of a genesis of some sort. I'll pass until it grows on me

Glad you got to drive one. I know I woulda been in heaven. Its hard to not wanna buy a 6th gen.....I have bought the first year model my last two new cars (GTO/Camaro). Kinda becoming a tradition. But, I'm getting older and cant be shoveling snow and pushing a mower like I used to. So, for me, 2016 is the year of the truck...so I can haul my riding mower and plow snow.
I do love the 6th for what it is. I just think its getting away from its roots as a muscle car. Too many gadgets and luxuries.....which in turn, prices it further out of reach of the income of the people who made it famous.

That's the first time I've seen the rear end. First, they make the C7 Corvette taillights look like the Camaro...then they change the Camaro taillights. Now they make the Gen 6 Camaro taillights look like C7 Corvette taillights.
IMO, the only thing they improved on is the interior. The exterior took a step backwards.

In what way? Less power, less handling, more weight, crappier interior...and the list goes on. Sure I love the 5th gen, but the 6th IS better in ALOT of ways.

Different...yeah. Better? That's relative. I hear people complaining about the plastic in the gen5, what are they supposed to use? Spotted Owl and human bone? Maybe a White Rhinocerous shift knob? I distinctly recall seeing plastic in the 16. Maybe I was mistaken and it's a special material grown from human stem cells. I like the leather trim they added on the dash later on the Gen5 and I'm still not bonding with the Euro style tail lights on the 14-15, but the 16 just looks like they stole Vette tail lights. IMO I love the separate dual tail lights from the 10-13 the best. They lost the hips, eliminated half of the trunk and made the back seat even smaller. None of which were upgrades. I can get 455 hp out of my 6.2 with no problem at all. Handling? When the did "muscle cars" handle this well? Never. The new Camaro is departing from the muscle car genre and just becoming a cheaper Vette. That's nice if it's what you're looking for. Regardless. Enjoy them while you can. The Liberal tree huggers are coming for your V8's, manual transmissions, and ultimately gas powered vehicles period. Did you hear the recent discussion on making auto-driving vehicles mandatory? Pretty soon, you're not going to be allowed to actually drive your own vehicle. We're lucky to have been around to see the muscle car resurgence, it's been pretty cool. |
