Gen 5 Zl1 vs cars on the road today
What cars today are just as fast as a Gen 5 ZL1 in straight line speed?

Porsche, Maserati, Ferrari; All are as fast or faster. Maserati might be slower...not all are built exclusively for speed.
Just for your edification, the ZL1 isn't primarily built for speed either. Its prowess is a combination of horsepower and excellent handling, with PTM and the Magnetic Shocks.

Guys on the Camaro5 Fast List have consistently run 11.5's with an auto and 11.9-12.0 w/ a manual (BONE STOCK).
As lbls1 said, the car is fast in its own right, but it was built to be a well rounded machine over anything else.

6th gen SS is same 0-60 as a 5th gen Zl1 and a couple tenths behind in the quarter.

For an example I'm gunna assume a 6th gen ss, C6 ls3 vette, 2015 and up 392 challenger, c7 stingray vette and a 2019 5.0 mustang would probably be comparable and tie with a 5th gen ZL1 stock for stock in the quarter mile or even a mile race. Now I could be wrong and maybe the Zl1 would beat all those cars or not but just figured I throw some of those cars in there because I felt like it could be comparable. Sure other factors may come into play such as weight and power of the vehicles, gear ratios, as well as how good the drivers are. |

Edit: As for the cars in the second paragraph, the ZL1 doesn't have to worry about any of them. They may or may not be as fast, but getting around the curves of the track, and just the bad@ss persona makes the ZL1 the biggest and baddest of the bunch IMO. However, this is coming from a ZL1 fan so actual results can vary lol!!!

I hate to bring this up but in order to be fair, and really closer to what the op questioned, we must include the offerings from Ford and Fiat (oh, I mean Mopar). I drove my friend's '14 Shelby with a blown 662 HP set-up. Fairly impressive. I know the Hellcat is also very respectable with its 707 HP mill.
