He was kidding.

Do you track with the 1LE? If not, then the SS is a fine compromise. $200 is a decent chunk of change each month.

keep in mind the effect it will have on your credit if open a new loan shortly before you buy a new house.

This^
In the end a car is just a car, do the trade and save up for the stuff you lose that you care about the most. If you really want those RS front & rear lights you can add them later, besides that the antenna painted to match is not a huge deal especially if you go with the right color combo. You can still get some nice wheels, either 1LE or something aftermarket then wrap your hood and roof and make it flow with the unpainted antenna. Think it would look great on a summit white
Personally I love the 14/15 1LE non RS look. If you bought the 1LE for looks just get a nice set of wheels, powder coat those calipers and wrap the hood... you can do that within a year I'd think.

If dropping $200 a month is debt is needed to get you to the minimum requirements for the loan you are not in the correct position to take on a mortgage. You really only have two options 1) make more money (which you say you have capped out) or 2) lower your expenses significantly and neither are easy.
