C'mon let go of the Z/28 already! GM has already stated SEVERAL times that the GEN 5 is too heavy to be deemed a Z/28. That is why they made the 1LE instead. The Z/28 is most likely going to be on the GEN 6 because it will be on the light "Alpha" platform that is shared by the Cadillac ATS. This is only going to a "REFRESH" as in slightly redesigned exterior, maybe more choices (better quality?) of paint color and a slightly redesigned interior. Don't expect this to look completely different, calm down folks......

make room for a z28. I think the LSA has the hp potential and more with a slight refresh (it's getting a little old if you count CTS-V time). So a z28 with an ls7 is possible, my main question being at what COST? $36k SS, $41k 1LE, $51k z28, $61k ZL1 maybe? That's a lot of models. |

KMPrenger: Why would I be excited about it if I know I'm not going to get it? So I can see other guys driving it? Not sure how hard this is to understand - I bought my SS because I wanted the latest model. If that didn't matter to anyone, we'd all be driving 4th gens. (while being "excited" about the 5th gens we didn't have). Ask a C6 owner how "excited" they are about the C7 release.

WGAS. If everyone thought that way then nobody would buy anything for fear of having an outdated product eventually. And shnomac has contributed greatly to this site even without owning a Camaro.

I don't think it will be anything major that hasnt been seen already. The 2013 Copo's switched to the heritage grill, so Im sayin heritage grill as stock and the euro rear facia are gonna be the updates, and possibly following Mustang with standard HID's. I will go on a bigger limb and say I think the LT1 will be joining the SS. I don't know what to make of the LS7 thing yet. I say LT1 because 5th gen test cars were accompanied many times with the new C7's. I doubt little if any interior changes will be made. Interior changes are expensive and this gen is about to say bye. They really just kind of cemented that by incorporating the My Link screen into the present dash. If anything I would guess color, trim or material changes without any structural changes.
I still stand firm that I dont think you will see the Z/28 name used in this gen. Guess we shall see in 3 weeks. ...as a side note, I find it humorous how much buzz the pre-09 yellow test car has made. Its testing GM performace parts, namely an upcoming exhaust system. As an OEM, GMPP has to test for noise and emissions too. Last edited by 94turbolsx; 03-06-2013 at 04:41 PM. |

Not really. Apple fanboys cling to every word Apple says and buy new products every year even if they really aren't improved all that much and there's nothing wrong with their old purchases.

I will be at NYIAS. I wouldn't miss it for the world. One way or another (I believe) 2014 will be my year......I hope...with some changes both under the hood and outside.
