Lightweight battery
I have been using this Duracell for about 2 weeks now and I haven't run into any issues yet. I do not plan on running it through the winter here in the Northeast corridor but we had some hot days (90+) when I intalled it and it didn't let me down. I believe it is listed at 570 cca and you can hear that it cranks slower than the factory battery but it does start every time.
The weight of the factory battery is 46 on the bathroom scale and this one is 22. I did try the Odyssey Extreme battery before this one but it couldn't crank the car once it warmed up. You will need to buy terminal posts (not included) but I do love that I could use the existing hold down and not have to custom fab one myself. The real test will be hot lapping at ATCO in 2 weeks, I'll keep you updated.

Let us know how it turns out.. an Optima battery is stronger and lighter as well..
Eventually I'll replace the battery, seats and the muffler.. that might add up to 60-80 lbs of dead weight. |

Interesting that there isn't a picture of a car on the battery.

Are you going to drop the fuel tank for a 5gal cell as well? You could also remove the bumper bars and replace them with 1lb cc foam blocks?
Just not sure taking parts off your Seadoo to use on your Camaro is the brightest thing to do. |

Very observant! That bothers me as well. It may be lighter but not worth the risk of causing electrical/computer problems. Just my .02

Modern cars have lots of sensitive, sophisticated electronics. Using a battery the engineers did not spec can cause problems which won't be covered under warranty.
You already admitted it cranks slower than the stock battery. That is not good. Also means your alternator is stressed during the charge cycle, and our alternators charge cycle is computer controlled. Watch your charge gauge closely while running your accessories when stopped or in slow traffic. But it's your car, do what you want. Hope that 20 lb savings gets you the gold medal |

I had an Odessy lightweight battery in my 99 SS Camaro other than some quirky stuff like the gauges sweeping on startup I never had any issues to speak of. I realize its a car with 17 year old eqpt.
