Don’t forget the tassels from the headliner for the complete look.

I did the suede ( alcantara ) for my 1SS. Big difference in the look and feel from the hard plastic.

Now if I can only figure out a way to do the same for the insert on the upper part of the door panels........

I was just thinking the same. Does that insert come out?

Nice work! I despise the plastic knee pads on these vehicles because they scream "cost cutting." Leather-wrapped or suede-wrapped knee pads should be standard on all trims, IMO. Furthermore, GM should line the door panels with felt behind the knees pads so they don't squeak or otherwise produce noise when opening and closing the doors (see attached photograph).

Good thing I found this post that can help you out it helped me out. The process is basiclly the same, I would just like to advise you that you DON'T use padding it makes it look lumpy and make sure to use a spray adhesive with a webbing layer. Also make sure to use a single layer of spray, if you use to much it'll soak into the fabric and stain it. Good Luck!

Bumping an old thread here, but I figure it would be better than starting a new one. I just did this today using genuine alcantara. You can get a roll of it on eBay for a decent price and it won't discolor in the sun like the stuff from JoAnn which is really meant for interior use (I've done a few door panels in it and it turns purple in the sun).

Nice!

I actually sent a set of plastic ones and had to @kropscamaro16 as and had him do my knee bolsters in Alcantara red with gray stitching... Kind of an "inverse" of the grayish Alcantara seats with red stitching. He also added in some extra foam and they look and feel awesome

Looks like he used Alcantara without the backing since he added foam. A very good idea and it makes the corners much easier to fold, looks great! I could not agree with you more on silver hard touch plastics, they certainly detract from the interior!

Very nice!

I wrapped my A-pillars in what looks to be the same material (when I bought at Joanne's they labelled it Micro Suede)

Only problem now is every time I get in the car I feel the need to "brush" them down so there aren't any lines on them

Lol, I know the feeling, I brush the stuff in my other cars quite a bit! As long as your car lives in a garage (and has a windshield shade on when parked in the sun) I expect the microsuede to hold its color. The issue arises if the sun can hit it directly for some days. Alcantara fabric is meant for the purpose, so it won't discolor the same.

I got my hands on the dash pad out of a ZL1 1LE and got that into my car. I think it really helps tie in the look with the Alcantara knee pads.
