Shifting while spinning tire

Does any body else have this issue ? From a stop turning left in first stepping on the gas breaking the tires loose , then trying to shift to second and it won't let me and the dic says traction control active even though it's turned of.

It shouldn't keep you from shifting. As far as I know, TC shouldn't do anything to the transmission.

The issue is I want to break loose and keep spinning Tire but shift to second. And why does it say traction control active when it's turned off supposedly.

Yes I hold down for 10 seconds. Its laying tire but when I try to shift it won't go into second and it says traction control active.

The Camaro has 2 settings for TC off. The first is when you press it and let go, the light turns on telling you it's off. In actuality it's not, it's more like its on a delay. The TC will kick back in if it detects complete lose of traction. The second setting is when you press the TC button and hold for 10 seconds then it will be completeley off.

If you search the forum for TC off you should find a better explanation of how it works than mine.

As for your shifting issue, are you in an AT?

If this is a manual, there should be no problem at all. No idea what the automatic would do if you had it in paddle shift...is that what you're talking about?

Otherwise...
