Do you think it'll be possible to buy these when the 6th gen is out?

Hey guys,

I really like the look of the new shifter. What are the chances that we can pick it up and use it in our 5th?

Is it possible to buy a 5th gen shifter right now from the parts counter? If so, I'm pretty sure you will be able to buy the 6th gen in time.

When production increases to full strength there is no question every part of the car will be available for purchase. So yes, you will be able to buy the shift knob.

Whether it will fit your 5th gen is a different story. Just because the transmissions are the same doesn't mean the shift arm will have the same diameter and thread for the knob.

if the diameter or threads don't match there are adapters available to make it work

The grip / knob only. The shifters in the 1LE / ZL1 / Z28 (suede?) get dirty too quick and can get rough looking too quickly. If I can get that one, would be great! Otherwise I guess I have to resort to the traditional leather one in the SS/V6

I used to love my 4gen shifter ball. About the size of an 8 ball or a little smaller. Loved it?
