Agreed, the only Mustang I'd want to drive is the GT350 with the Voodoo. I still wouldn't want to buy it, but that's a very bold engine with an amazing, unique sound.

...that burns a hell of a lot of oil! My friend who owns one goes nowhere without a few quarts in the trunk. Already replaced the engine after one year of ownership.

Savage Geese in-dept review with Ford engineering team:
The car was designed by a team that was made up of a bunch of diversity hires and traditional bro muscle car enthusiasts. Several cringe statements by members of the team. Explains a lot of the awful design decisions. Still has a good engine. Interior is complete garbage. |

Every time I see a Darkhorse review video and nobody calls out the interior for what it really is, I think of this:
I guess nobody has the guts to bite the hand that feeds. |

I have been actively searching the reviews and only R&T says anything positive about the handling. The C&D one says it feels bad but it's still faster so doesn't really matter. Most say the Camaro feels better to drive.
To all the fanboys that say only speed matters, I'll point you to nearly every generation of mustang being slower than the comparable Camaro. Remember, for most of its history the Shelby was a Tuner car, so that doesn't count.

The video definitely creates the impression that their interior decisions were aimed at what they hear the young people want. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford's "B" design team made the video because the "A" team had already followed focus group advice and jumped off a bridge.

I don't know if anybody has been noticing, but I think Ford is trying to make up for an inferior Mustang chassis (first in the Mach1 and now the DH) by adding more aggressive rubber.
Compared to the SS 1LE at 285F/305R tire widths, the Mach1 handling package used 305F/315R Cup2s (treadwear rating also a bit lower than the SS 1LEs SC3 220 tires), while the DH uses the same widths again but a tire that has a treadwear rating of only 60. If track drivers don't feel like purchasing replacment OEMs for price or low durability, they'll then have a traction and stabilty system that is no longer optimized for their tires. |

Except the GT500. That car being 4200 lbs and 760hp, still has the same rubber as the Mach 1 and now Dark Horse. It is screaming for 335s in the back and 315s in the front.

Makes one wonder, if Ford had gone "all in" with an actually new chassis, and made the same choices/compromises as were made when Alpha was developed for the sake of performance, how it would affect sales moving forward.
