Well played. For the record, given a choice between a V8, I'd prefer a V8 without AFM to one with. However, recognizing that cannot happen with CAFE and EPA ratings having to go up, I prefer an AFM V8 to a TTV6, given those are the only two choices.

not sure if its been posted, and thought it funny after reading the "detuning a ZL1" thread, thought this would be a good reason... but a reason why someone would want a 4 cylinder camaro, is because they don't trust their 17yr old kid with too much HP behind the wheel but insist its a great idea to give "said" kid a powerful car.

Where do you get 200hp ?? I'd love to see a 6th Gen with a 320hp turbo 4 anytime... According to reports the Next Gen Mustang will have a 300+ hp Turbo 4... In a lighter car this could be fun and exciting...
No reason why GM/Chevy can't put together a screaming 4 cylinder Turbo with at least 300hp,,, hell Subaru and Mitsubishi have done it for years and the Mods for those motors and are kinda impressive if you want some big numbers from a 4 banger.... |

If you want to make that comparison, you have to compare those cars to the SS or even the 1LE, as they are not even close to the base Camaro's price range. Dollar for dollar, they fall way short on power. And frankly, those particular turbo 4s are about as efficient (or inefficient) as the V8 Camaro, despite the much smaller size of the cars they are in.

........ A Turbo 4 cylinder could be an "option" some folks might like to see........ Why not do it ??? if it generates added sales, no one misses out.... For me, I would like to see something different added to the 6th Gen and maybe even a V-6 Performance package like the Mustang has...

A hybrid or pure EV Camaro would be a huge boon for GM. |

Hahahahaha! I laugh in your general direction. As for everyone who say the V8 is dead, AFM 5.3 liters, turbo 4 bangers rule and such... Z/28 with 427 ci and I heard nothing about AFM or making the Camaro the new weak sister prius gas saving wanna be. Hmmmmmmm....

How about I explain my thinking, since Inet bets never work out.
1) GM management has mandated a 15% decrease in weight, EV and hybrid add weight. 2) GM appears to be focusing on DI/VVT and turbos to get the ecomomy and performance they want. We really haven't see any performance cars hinted at having EV or hybrid technology (look at the announcements for the CTS and ATS). 3) It is too expense for a lower volume car like the Camaro. We are more likely to see it in something like the Cruze first. They sale as many of those a month as they sold Camaros all last year. We'll see a hybrid Cruze long before we see a hybrid Camaro. That said, I do thing some day we may well see a hybrid Camaro, and maybe even an EV Vette-like vehicle. I just don't see it happing in the next 6-8 years.
